Raising Texas Longhorn Cattle with Beauty, Heritage, and Purpose
At Circle of Seven Longhorns, our passion is raising exceptional Texas Longhorn cattle known for their striking colors, impressive horns, strong maternal instincts, and calm dispositions. What began in 2018 with just a handful of cattle has grown into a carefully managed herd where health, fertility, temperament, and beauty guide every decision we make.
Our journey started in 2018 after visiting Rocking O Longhorns. After learning more about these remarkable animals, we brought home our first cattle — two cows, four heifers, and a young bull. From that small beginning, Circle of Seven Longhorns was born.
While my husband and I technically own the herd, anyone who knows us knows the longhorns are truly my passion. These incredible animals bring personality, beauty, and life to our ranch every single day.
Texas Longhorns are unlike any other breed of cattle. Their various colors, sweeping horns, resilience, and gentle personalities make them both fascinating and rewarding to raise. Each animal has its own unique look and character, which is one of the many reasons I enjoy spending so much time with them.
At Circle of Seven Longhorns, we maintain a small herd of around 20–30 head so that each animal receives the attention and care it deserves. Our cattle are primarily grass-fed and pasture-raised, living naturally on open pasture. We provide hay when needed, cube occasionally, and maintain a regular health program that includes vaccinations twice a year.
When selecting cattle for our breeding program, we focus on several important traits:
Overall herd health and structural soundness
Fertility and strong mothering ability
Docility and calm temperament
Horn development and breed character
Color and overall beauty
Our cows are exposed to our bull year-round, and calves are typically weaned at around seven months of age. Our current herd sire is DB Chard Fiddler (Chard Iron × Fiddle Sticks), whose genetics contribute strong horn potential and excellent structure to our herd.
In 2023, we also began appreciating the value of Texas Longhorn beef. While it was not an easy step, we believe in responsibly utilizing animals that have been raised naturally and humanely. Longhorn beef is known for being lean and heart-healthy, and we are proud to offer small quantities to a select group of customers.
Visitors to our ranch often say the longhorns are one of the most memorable parts of their experience. Their presence brings a true sense of Texas heritage to our land, and we love sharing them with others who appreciate these remarkable animals as much as we do.
Occasionally we will offer cattle for sale by private treaty. We are grateful for the many customers and friends who have supported our program and believed in what we are building here at Circle of Seven Longhorns.
Most of all, our goal is simple — to raise healthy, beautiful Texas Longhorn cattle and share our passion for them with others.
